Wilton Carpets Hawick was established & Founded in 2003 by Finnan Brothers Gary and Michael Finnan from Hawick. Situated within the lovely Scottish border town of Hawick, and based on Dickson Street in the residential side of the town, away from the hustle and bustle of the high street, you can park at their very front door. From there, you can walk into their fresh and friendly showroom, which is exceptionally well stocked with all the leading names, and features ‘On The Roll’ carpets, cushion floor vinyl, creative flooring, rugs, blinds, beds, mattresses, furniture, prints, pictures, clocks, and bespoke, local crafts. Slightly further away just up and over the hill in the town of Jedburgh, you’ll find their second retail showroom, right bang middle of Jedburgh High street. The highly reputable UK company has a combined experience of almost 129 years in the industry. Michael Finnan, who runs the retail side, has a wealth of over 28 years sales experience. Originally an apprentice electrician, then a car salesman in the Borders for many years before going into business with Gary, and starting up Wilton Carpets, Michael makes sure you are looked after from the very start to the finish, with his knowledge and flair for flooring. With a keen eye for style and colour, Michael knows his stuff.

Gary Finnan has been floor fitting for over 40 years, and what Gary doesn’t know about floor fitting isn’t worth knowing! Originally time served and trained in Hawick, Gary is very highly skilled floor fitter with over 40 years of experience, and has vast knowledge of all aspects of the flooring trade, domestic and contract. A very skilled fitter and a bit of a perfectionist! You just don’t get then like that these days!

Calum Shields is another one of our local Hawick fitters who has over 11 years of experience, and is also highly skilled in all aspects of flooring. Very passionate about his work, and takes pride in everything he does. Calum is the laid back one, nothing bothers him, and he just gets on with the job. An extremely likable young gent indeed. Calum’s hobbies are DJing at weekends, arranging nightclub dance nights while also playing at them. Very passionate about his music, and we think he’s most definitely a Dave Pearce replica.

Nathan Murray, another skilled and talented floor fitter, who has been with us for almost 9 years now, and was our apprentice, so he’s started from the very beginning, and trained by us. Nathan, a cheeky chappy, happy go lucky lad, and always smiling, and is another 1st class, time served fitter, who also takes massive pride in what he does. Nathan’s OCD gets the better of him at times, and everything just has to be spot on first time, every time! All in all, another extremely good fitter.

Ryan Moir is our apprentice. Ryan is fresh from school, and is hugely keen to be a fitter one day! Starting from scratch, Ryan has a long 4 years ahead of him but he’s keen as mustard, a quick learner, with great attention to detail, and above all, determined to be a great fitter. Doing the apprentice things that need done, we think Ryan has what it takes. Ryan’s hobbies are playing Rugby, other sports, socialising, and he’s learning to drive.

Carna McDonald, who runs our Hawick branch, also in sales & accounts, and has been with us for over 12 years, and offers a relaxed ”woman’s touch” and a ”keen eye” on colours and design, is sure to look after you, and keep you right from start to finish. Carna is the boss of the office, and what she says… goes!!

Margaret Hall, known as Mags to many locals of Jedburgh, has a wealth or experience in the flooring trade. She used to also run a flooring shop in her local town of Jedburgh years back, until having a little break from the flooring trade, and now returning to work in our Jedburgh showroom. Mags is sure to be another great asset to us, and has a great eye for detail and colour, and will be sure to keep you right!
